“Chameleon #1 by British artist Tim Willcox is a contemporary abstract mixed-media painting that investigates the fluid relationships between modern cities, green space and evolving landscapes. Expressive texture, layered colour and a shifting blend of urban and organic forms create a dynamic visual field attractive to collectors and private buyers.”

In Chameleon #1, I’ve continued exploring how contemporary cities lean on the natural environments that quietly support them. The painting balances architectural hints with softer, organic rhythms, letting the landscape morph, adapt and gently push back. This one marks a move from my earlier eco-forward narratives into a more process-driven approach, where meaning feels suggested rather than announced.

Across the surface, colour and texture behave almost like living things. Fragments of skyline dissolve into wetlands. Structural moments loosen into more intuitive passages. Small symbols flicker between order and improvisation. The whole piece feels both constructed and in constant motion, as if the canvas is figuring out how to breathe.

From here, my intention is to develop a body of work where the urban and the natural don’t stand in opposition, but instead overlap, merge and blur. Chameleon feels like the hinge point: the first step toward a looser, more instinctive language where the story rises quietly through the paint rather than sitting loudly on top.
