Expressive, Mixed-Media Abstract Art for Modern Homes & Contemporary Workspaces

Tim Willcox is a contemporary British mixed-media artist creating bold, expressive, one of a kind paintings for contemporary homes and modern spaces.

Working intuitively with paint, texture, collage, mark-making and found materials, Tim builds each piece through layers of exploration rather than a fixed plan. His paintings evolve as much as they are created, with surfaces that reveal new marks, textures and moments the longer they are explored.

This approach has developed into an increasingly recognisable visual language across his work, balancing expressive mark-making and rich, tactile surfaces with a strong underlying sense of movement, space and narrative.

Following a successful three-month showing at the prestigious North Street Gallery in Bristol, Willcox has continued to build momentum through sales and private commissions, creating original works for collectors and individual spaces.

His current work reflects an artist developing a confident and consistent body of work, while continuing to experiment with materials, process and the possibilities of mixed-media abstraction.

The online gallery brings together original paintings, selected limited editions and commissioned work, with an opportunity to explore the ideas and processes behind the pieces.

Take your time. Look closely. There is usually more going on beneath the surface than first meets the eye.

His online gallery is a great place to explore the original works and limited editions available to buy. To learn more about his unique process, and to discover pieces created in response to specific spaces or commissions. You’re welcome to browse slowly and let the work speak for itself. Thank you for taking the time to view my work.

Here are some pieces I am currently working on. This limited edition collections are called, simply 'Aer 2026' and 'ICE 2026' and will comprise two editions each of eight pieces exploring 'Flaws, Fissures and Failings'. Abstract statements as a witness to the impact of human industry and population on the natural world.

A selection of the final paintings are being shown at The North Street Gallery, Bristol from May 1st - July 31st 2026. More info and directions here
