The Glow from a Far Horizon” by contemporary abstract artist Tim Willcox explores in its abstraction, light pollution and its quiet effect on rural landscapes. A layered, mixed-media reflection on the balance between nature and human progress.
This painting looks at how city light spills across the night sky, reaching out to small towns and rural spaces that used to sit under proper darkness. I’ve always loved that soft in-between place where countryside meets city - where nature still holds its ground but you can sense the distant hum of urban life creeping closer.
The small rows of houses sit quietly under a glowing haze, caught between peace and progress. It’s not meant as a lecture - more a gentle reflection on how even the most distant places are touched by the light (and noise) of modern living. There’s something both beautiful and unsettling about it.
